The 17 Day Diet - Cycle 1 - Day 2

Starting weight: 222.8
Today's weight: 222.0
Weight loss to date: -0.8 lbs

Woke up at 4 AM and did a quick walk in a very peaceful neighborhood with my pup Juno.  I haven't seen 4 AM for ages!  Not sure if this is going to be a regular occurrence.

Breakfast
Protein or probiotic serving = 2 scrambled eggs
Fruit serving = 1 cup fresh strawberries
Green tea

Lunch
Protein or probiotic serving = tuna
Cleansing vegetables = Generous bed of greens with 2 tbsp FF raspberry vinaigrette (I was skeptical about having tuna that wasn't mixed with mayo and relish, but this was absolutely delicious!) + 1 cup celery
Water

This salad tasted so good I forgot to take a picture until it was almost gone.

Snack
Forgot to eat it! but wasn't hungry either...

Dinner
Protein serving = 4 oz turkey burger.  Now remember I'm a baker, not a cook.  I had Rich help me season this with fresh garlic, Mrs. Dash onion and herbs, salt, pepper and he mixed it up for me (I didn't want to put my hands in that mess)  Cooked for about 4 min on the Foreman.  Delish!
Cleansing vegetables = Green beans leftover from last night's dinner (the quantity of beans on my plate really dwarf the turkey burger, but really the turkey burger was plenty!
Green tea

So I haven't had my 2nd probiotic serving today or my 2nd fruit serving, so dammit I'm having yogurt with strawberries tonight for dessert!  Usually I had  6 double stuf oreos and a mug full of milk (which happens to be what Rich is eating right now, although I can't say he's eating half a dozen of them).

So I was happy to see a loss of .8 lbs after one day -- any progress is good progress.  It's amazing after only 6 meals -- six GOOD meals -- how great I feel!  Aside from my dull headache I can only attribute to caffeine withdrawal, I am more energetic and haven't had that "2:30" feeling the last two days when I think my head's going to drop on the desk and pass out because I had a heavy/fried/unhealthy lunch.  It's really great!

The book says I can change what my taste buds get used to -- before they were used to sugary fatty foods and this 17 days (cycle 1) is supposed to get me used to having not so sugary foods (which is why I can't have bananas, but who knew bananas were high in sugar?!).

I wonder if I'll have my #1 at Mickie's again.  But then again I wonder if I'll ever WANT it again.  I can't imagine a life without the golden arch fries.  But then again I can't imagine a life having diabetes or high cholesterol or not wearing shorts in the depths of a Florida summer.  Ask me if I own any shorts.  That answer is NOPE.  Not even any I wear around the house.  Ask me again next July.  I plan on having a special "shorts" drawer in my closet this time next year.
